Manitou-Mail is an open source database-driven Mail User-Agent that differs from other mail programs by its three-tier architecture:

  • a pure database application as the user interface, running on Unix/Linux, Windows, MacOs.
  • server-side Perl programs interacting with the mail system (smtp and pop/imap servers).
  • a PostgreSQL database serving the mail data.
